Opening a Selfwealth trading account
Follow these steps to apply for a Selfwealth trading account:
- Click Join Now on the Selfwealth website.
- Register your details by entering your email address and password, and confirming you've read and accepted the Selfwealth Terms and Conditions.
- Check your inbox for a verification email and enter the 6-digit passcode provided.
- Once verified, you'll be taken to the application page.
⚠️ Important: Please select the correct account type before proceeding — this cannot be changed once your application is submitted.
What types of accounts can I open?
| Account Type | Description |

| Individual | Investing in your own name |
| Joint | Investing with up to 3 people (all must be 18 or older) |
| Kids (Minor) | An account in your name with a minor as the beneficiary |
| Company | Investing in the name of a registered company |
| SMSF | A trading account for your Self Managed Super Fund, with individual or corporate trustees |
| Trust | A trading account for a family, discretionary, or other trust structure, with individual or corporate trustees |
What do I need before I start my application?
Having the following ready before you begin will make the process smoother:
- Personal and/or entity details for yourself and anyone else included in the application
- HIN (Holder Identification Number) — if you're transferring shares from another broker, you'll find this on your CHESS Holding Statement
- Bank account details — used to withdraw funds from your Selfwealth account; must be in the same name as your trading account
- Tax File Number (TFN) — optional, but recommended

Joint

- Bank account details in the same name as your trading account
Kids (Minor)
- Personal and contact details for the applicant; identity verification via Australian driver's licence or passport (Medicare card may be required)
- TFN (yours or the minor's)
- Bank account details in the same name as your trading account
Company
- Personal and contact details for all directors; identity verification via Australian driver's licence or passport for each director (Medicare card may be required)
- Australian Company Number (ACN)
- Company TFN
- Bank account details in the name of the company
SMSF
- Personal and contact details for all directors/trustees; identity verification via Australian driver's licence or passport for each person (Medicare card may be required)
- ACN (only required if the trustee is a company)
- Super fund ABN
- Super fund TFN
- Bank account details in the name of the super fund
- Schedule page of your trust deed
Trust
- Personal and contact details for all directors/trustees; identity verification via Australian driver's licence or passport for each person (Medicare card may be required)
