Can I place an HKEX order outside of market hours?
Yes, any orders placed outside of market hours will be automatically queued for the next 'Continuous Trading Session'. This includes if you place orders during the lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
Please note: Orders submitted during the lunch break period will be shown as being 'In Market' however the order will not be matched with other orders until the next 'Continuous Trading Session' begins at 1:00 PM.
How do I trade in the Closing Auction Session?
Selfwealth does not allow new orders to be submitted in the 'Closing Auction Session'. However, any orders that were submitted prior to 4:00 PM during the 'Continuous Trading Session' will automatically enter the 'Closing Auction Session' provided that the order complies with the price step requirements based on the current bid and offer prices.
You may cancel your order between 4:00 PM and 4:06 PM during the 'Closing Auction Session'. Between 4:06 PM and 4:08 PM, the exchange enforces a ‘no-cancellation’ period during which orders cannot be amended or cancelled. Subsequently, at a randomly selected time between 4:08 PM and 4:10 PM all trading will cease for the day.
