What is 'Deferred Settlement'?
'Deferred Settlement' refers to instances where the standard T+2 settlement period doesn't apply. Generally, this occurs when a company makes a significant announcement (e.g. a share split or capital reconstruction).
When a security is placed in deferred settlement the funds will not be available within the standard T+2 settlement period and will be deferred until the date specified in the relevant corporate event notice.
